How can UAVs fight Malaria?
Just a quick update on the development of UAV for humanitarian aid.
UAV Hub has recently published an article on dronologista to feature the use of UAVs in Borneo, Malaysia to cope with Malaria. This interesting article highlight one of the great potentials of UAV in various non-military purposes.
In fact, this is not the only example on how UAV is used for humanitarian aid. I have spoken to Dr Andrew Schroeder, the Director of Research & Analysis of Direct Relief last month. Direct Relief is a NGO from USA and one of their projects was the relief of typhoon in various disaster areas. He has shared with me on how the application of civilian drones helps in streamlining the search and rescue operations to minimize live lost. You can hear more from Dr Schroeder at The Commercial Unmanned Show Asia 2015 which will be held in Singapore from 30th June to 1st July 2015. He will be sharing more on how UAVs provided relief for Philippines after it was hit by Haiyan in 2013.
Have a great evening.
